First, it’s important to recognize your need for a personal Savior. The Bible is clear that we all face a significant problem—sin. Romans 3:23 puts it this way: “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” This means that none of us are sinless. We’ve all broken God’s law. You may not consider yourself the worst sinner, but even the most moral person still needs a Savior. Are you willing to acknowledge your guilt before God?
The issue is that sin comes with a steep cost. Romans 6:23a tells us, “For the wages of sin is death…” This means the price of sin is eternal separation from God in a place called Hell—an awful reality. Because of our sin, we are all condemned before God, and none of us can make it to Heaven on our own. Denying our sinfulness doesn’t change the truth; God knows the condition of our hearts.
But here’s the good news—God has provided a way out! The second part of Romans 6:23 says, “…but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” And in Romans 5:8, God says, “But God commended His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us!” This brings us to the second step.
You must repent—turn away from your sin—and believe in Jesus Christ as your personal Savior! Jesus, who is God in the flesh, came to Earth, lived a perfect life, and then willingly died on the cross to take your punishment, because He loves you. Through His death, He paid the price for all your sins. Three days later, He rose from the dead and is coming again. He wants to be your Savior! The Bible promises in Romans 10:13 that “whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” The decision is crucial. If you truly trust Christ, He will transform your life and give you a home in Heaven. Delaying or rejecting this gift keeps you under the condemnation of sin. Will you pray and accept Christ as your Savior today?
One day, everyone will recognize the truth of who Jesus is. But for many, it will be too late because they rejected Him in this life. You can wait until you stand before God, but salvation only comes when you accept Jesus by faith before that moment. Today is the day of salvation. Philippians 2:10-11 reminds us: “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things on earth, and things under the earth; and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” When that truth is undeniable, it will be too late to place your faith in Him.
Saving faith is simply this: acknowledging your guilt before God, accepting that Christ’s death was in your place, turning away from all else, and trusting Him alone for forgiveness and new life. Begin a relationship with Jesus today by praying and sincerely confessing these truths to Him in faith.
